Thu. Oct. 24: AJ GHENT [j-ent] & His Singing Guitar  -7:30pm-  $35.00

“AJ is breaking down walls and inspiring us all to look at music and life a little differently.”
– Johns Creek Lifestyle Magazine June 2021
Aubrey Ghent Jr., professionally known as A.J. Ghent [ j-ent ], also known and billed as AJ Ghent [ j-ent ] & His Singing Guitar, is a 3rd generation singer, songwriter, producer, and slide guitar,
lap, and pedal steel guitar player. AJ and his Singing Guitar create healing sounds that take listeners on a nostalgic and soulful melodic safari with luminous rhythmic patterns. The guitar is often compared to the voices of renowned R&B and soul singers from the past and present.
AJ hails from Fort Pierce, Florida, and works tirelessly to preserve his family’s nearly 100-year old legacy of making the guitar sing, which originated in Florida as a style of praise music using lap steel guitars as the primary instrument. The sound was used during worship services in Black Pentecostal churches across the U.S., dating back to the 1930s. AJ’s great uncle, Willie Eason, coined the talking guitar while AJ’s grandfather, Henry Nelson, carried on the tradition by creating vibratos that sounded like moans and screams. Henry’s son, Aubrey Ghent Sr. (AJ’s father), later introduced this sound to the public and outside of the church.
With viral TikTok and Instagram videos, AJ is a celebrated songwriter, producer, singer, and guitarist with hits that include the uplifting anthem “Power,” “Mercy” and viral fan favorites,
“Let the Guitar Sing,” “Peace of Mind” and “Singing Guitar Vibes.” AJ’s latest album, “Healing Soundwaves,” is also a viral fan favorite with hints of his soulful voice. He has also reached the Billboard Blues Albums chart, was handpicked by Starbucks to be part of their Nation of U.S. campaign, and was chosen by the creators of the HBO series “Game of Thrones” official Spotify Playlist.
Over the years, Ghent has shared music on major tours in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, and more. Following his family tradition, AJ can make his guitar sound like a voice singing a
melody. AJ and his Singing Guitar have reached millions worldwide through viral videos.
“NEVER HEARD ANYONE PLAY LIKE THAT. IT SOUNDS LIKE AN ACTUAL VOICE HUMMING-WOW!!” — India Arie
In 2019, Ghent created his health and wellness initiative Singing Guitar Vibes® to promote soothing music’s healing benefits. These positive vibrations help listeners overcome the daily struggles that life may bring. AJ has received thousands of testimonies from fans worldwide, on how his music is helping them calm stress, anxiety, and depression, and conquer
life!
In 2021 AJ released his line of handcrafted Gemstone Jewelry and his Signature Amp Combo from Quilter Labs. AJ doesn’t plan on stopping and aims to impact the world in a positive way.
With a growing global audience, he will be busy creating for years to come.
‘The church has played a big role in keeping my music spiritual,” said AJ. “When my guitar opens up, it sings melodies of peace, love, and joy, all while giving hope for the hopeless and a
best friend to the lonely.” Ghent believes that his music has healing energy attached to it and that its vibrations give us peace of mind, positivity, and hope. “There is a vibration with my left hand,” said AJ, “a vibrato that I believe can trigger something that’s happening in your spirit, your soul, and your brain. Over the years I’ve heard stories about my father and grandfather’s guitar playing and how it lifted burdens and heartaches,” said AJ. “I aspire to walk in their prophetic shoes.” (Reference: Johns Creek Lifestyle Magazine June 2021)
